Here is a shot I got at the Viera wetlands, so I guess this is Harry's eagle. I was really close, but of course he was backlit. I ran and pulled out my 580EX and tried to use some fill flash with some success. Not the greatest, but my best eagle shot to dat. Folks seem to enjoy Eagle shots, so here goes.

    Hey Thomas,

Eagles have this amazing ability to be able to sit so they are perfectly backlit. You handled a very difficult exposure well. Any eagle shot is a good one.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Nice shot Thomas... How do you guys get so close to eagles?
I saw four or five young ones in St. Cloud Florida, when we went on the airboat in the swamps. It was my first meeting in my life with real eagles in the wild. I was amazed to see that many. They are very majestic...

Nice work out of a difficult situation. He looks a little ruffled, did he fly off right away?

Good shot Thomas. The bird looks cold to me, or maybe I'm just projecting, because I was freezing most of the time. It was difficult to find good light on them, so I think you deserve the gold star to get such a great capture. It was a pleasure meeting you.

Thanks everyone. Trish & William, it was a pleasure meeting and shooting with both of you. Michael, he sat there for about 10 minutes letting me shoot & then he flew away. I asked nicely, but he just refused to turn around into the light.

Aaww, come on Harry.:D Would you sit up on a post and look into the sun for small prey, or turn your back to the sun and look into the shaded areas for mice and such.

It sure seems like they have it in for photographers when you try to shoot them though, doesn't it. Good job with difficult lighting, Thomasthumb.gif
