in the middle of winter in Minnesota.
So, I guess I'll have to go with Black and White.
Taken today (19th)
I think the temps were around 15 degrees, but the winds were about 20 MPH
I took about 250 shots. This is by far the best one.
They didn't like getting to close today.

We're getting some of the same artic blast down here in S Indiana. -4 last nite and nothing above freezing today. No eagles here, so needless to say I wasn't about to venture out. We had slight dust of snow, not even enough to make things pretty. Just cold and slick icy roads.

Use what talents you possess: the woods would be very silent if
no birds sang there except those that sang best.

p.s. - can you post exif?
The EXIF goes something like this.
Shutter 1/1000
Aperture F8.0
ISO 200
EV -1/3
400mm I used a Sigma 80-400os lenses on a Canon XT.

I'm thinking that I see three dominant color sections here. Maybe a black and white rendition of this one might be more suitable. The sharpness of it might really pop in b/w.
Cheers,

Thanks Ian.
The light on the bottom is from the eagle turning/tilting its body away from the sun.
The rules are:
*Colors Two = two colors
The subject can be most anything, but two colors should dominate the
image. These two colors might or might not be of the main subject; it
matters only that the viewer is presented with two colors that
dominate the frame. Other colors can also be present, but two colors should stand out most.
In my mind, the black and white of the eagle dominate the frame.
I did try your sug. of going with a B&W conversion, but the sky turns
a really ugly dark grey. I could put in a different sky, but I'd rather
just let stand the way it is.
Thanks for your thoughts.

It is a fabulous shot, way to go! As far as the contest if one wants to nits there are 4 colors counting the yellow of the legs and beak, BUT, the B&W of the eagle dominates. How could an eagle like that not dominate:D That's how I see it anyway.

Thanks Thusie. I think if we throw in all the greys, there will be hundreds
of colors. That's why I don't pick nit's.
Thanks Virginia. I can live with that.
