L-Bracket with handstrap?

I currently have a great handstrap from camadapter that Andy reviewed a while back. However I would really like to put an RRS L-Bracket on my 20D without giving up the handstrap. I was wondering if anyone might know how this would be possible. Do any current owners think it would be difficult to modify the L-bracket on the battery side to allow for a strap to loop through it? What would be the best way to do it? Would RRS do it by chance?
Thanks.

I saw a post on FM in the last couple days of how someone modified their L bracket as you mention. A machine shop should be able to do it.
