    Thanks for the comments.

The shots were taken very late morning and early afternoon while the sun was high. That tends to help make the skys darker and then add in the fact that I am compensating for the light coming off the snow and you have a deep blue sky.

Since you like the cemetery, here is another one just down the road from the one above.

Thanks, Ride, and yes, those mid-day skys with no clouds can get dark. I wasn't using a polarizer either. A lot does have to do with making sure that I don't blow the snow. ...and the fact that I like dark skys. :):

Thanks, Ginger. That little hut is located just off the lower right-hand corner of the third photo above the fence. The lighting is different because I am shooting with the light coming from my left in the first image (the one you like) and with light coming from right-center in the third photo. They were taken about eight minutes apart with the bottom being taken first.

    Thanks, George.

When are we going to meet out in the park and click a few shutters together? I'm up there all the time. Next trip is for about six days around the last weekend in April. Spring Festival time I think.

Which restaurant? I always stay in Townsend. I won't use the word hate, but I seriously dislike PF and Gatlinburg.

I've stayed at the Talley Ho and the Comfort Inn, but I mostly pull my camper into a spot at the Tremont Family Campground.

I'll be back up that way for about 6-7 days around the last weekend in April.

...and you never can tell - another good snow could get me up there on a moments notice. :D

Haven't been to the Lily Barn, but I checked out her web site. Beautiful place and a very well done web site. I can see that I need to run around the hills of Townsend a little more. I've never been down/up that road before.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the Lily Barn and talking photography.
