Here we go again.

At the moment I own a Canon EOS 350D with: 18-55mm kit lens, Tamron 28-75mm 2.8, sigma70-300mm and the cheap 50mm f1.8 lens. And guess what I want to upgrade my gear!

I will replace my EOS 350D but I dont know with what. I like the Canon, but its hard to hold in portrait mode, and it dont have spot meetering (only thing I use!), and No iso in viewfinder, small viewfinder, and the idear of holding down a button while changing aperture I dont like, the 20/30D with the wheel is nicer AND I cant change ISO while looking in the viewfinder. Well it is possible but abit hard and annoying. I also dont like the shutter button. But else its a GREAT camera! I have taken a ton of good pictures with it. Good picures in my eyes, maybe not in yours!

I have a Nikon D100 home at the moment. I like the grip, the aperture wheel is great! The viewfinder is alot better then 350D. I like that I can easy change ISO, meetering mode etc with the wheel on top of the camera. I like the menu system. Its very like the one on my 350D.

I cant make up my mind of which system to get.

The D200 seems soooo price worthy and nice. Its a nicer camera then 5D! That is alot more expensive then the D200. Im sure Nikon did the d200 cheap, and with alot of features so they dont need to upgrade it on 4 years. Will canon release something in that price range that can compet with the D200??

HEEEEEEELP....

The Canon feel and Nikon feel are different. If you like Nikon then stick with it...if you prefer Canon then stick with it. Both are great cameras. I've shot with both and I just prefer Nikon. I absolutely love the D200...the D200 with the MB-D200 and 70-200/2.8 is about the nicest combo I've ever used.

If you mean with the D200 then sure...these are all either iso400, 800 or 1600. I couldn't tell you which is which to be honest...I'd have to go back and check the exif. I don't have anything at 3200...

Nothing spectacular but all I have right now...haven't had much need/opportunity to go much over 400 lately. 52326109-L.jpg

Also, here's a sample gallery from someone on dpreview...good samples at high shutter, high-ish iso indoors...I don't know the guy or anything but the cleanliness and sharpness speak volumes.

BTW...you don't mention it in your post but the Canon 30D will be out soon and that's staring straight at the D200 for competition. It's debatable whether the 5D an D200 are rivals...especially considering the price difference in most places. But the 30D seems to be a nicer/faster version of the 20D. When the slate is clean it's a tough call...you really can't go wrong with either the 5D/30D or D200.

I want to sell my Nikon D200 (bought at the end of last December) and the 17-55mm f2.8G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor. Shot about 6GB worth (fill my 1GB card about 6 times) of photos and are in mint condition.

My number is 310-989-2003 or my office at 949-672-6538
