a bird in the hand
will be worth more to me than one in a bush.....
im not a very patient kinda guy, actually im quite impulsive! BUT, for nearly two years ive been feeding the small birds in my backyard and no matter how angry ivebeen at times or had other things on my mind - IVE NEVER been impatient or rushed when Im near the feeder. I always hoped that one day the chickadees would eat from my hand and everyday i try but they seem to scared.....
today I went out and to my great surprise they ate from my hand.... i didnt have my camera with me.... but soon enough i know i will get the picture ive been trying for.......
in the meantime.... a chickadee at the feeder after i did get my camera.......

And I love the subsequent shot. The shallow depth of field, well, I just love it.

(What kind of a feeder do you have? Do you have dogs?) I want one, my daughter said she would get me one for mother's day last year. Too small. I have to have a large one, with a pole. Exactly where I can see it.
Mother used to feed the birds on a tree stump, but she had some kind of small indoor dog.
I found a nest in a low tree/bush yesterday. Bird working on it, but when the nest is done and eggs are hatched, it will be covered with folliage.
I love that shot!
