I was there last August and took a bunch of images early in the morning.

I would really appreciate any thoughts, criticisms, helpful hints, etc.

Thanks

DS

I really like the scenery and the frame itself, only thing i would change is the time you shot the pic.. I would have waited a bit longer for more sun on the mountain, this would give you a much better reflection and improve some of the dim flat light!

Looks fabulaous. thumb.gif I might be tempted to squeeze more saturation out of the greenery in the middle ground.

Love shots like these! Reminds me of camping in Utah. You can feel the chill of the morning air through the photo. Here in San Antonio you just can't get shots like that (no mountains anywhere close). So serene and peaceful. Well done!

Fantastic shot of MB there from the n.w. end of the parking lot area.

There is no bad time of the day for that scenery.

This is absolutely stunning. My first thought was that you might want to crop that rubbish in the lower right corner. But, closer inspection shows that this is not feasable as doing so would destroy the balance of the photo.

I do agree a little patience would have delivered a more superior image, allowing the entire moutain to be illuminated.

But, the shadow has a certain tension to it that I find draws me into the image.

    Very, very nice!thumb.gif

    Thanks for the comments
I really appreciate it. I have some shots later in the morning when the full mountain got exposed, but the light really became flat.

Also, I felt need to desaturate a bit, because it did not look natural. I will go back and look at that.

But I really do appreciate the comments, the D-Grin/Smug-Mug community is really supportive, amusing and inspiring.

I would like second the "supportive, amusing and inspiring" feel of this community. After lurking a short while, that's why I joined!

    Again, just love this photo!

Holy Sh-t. I love it. And really like the flat lighting in the foreground. This is a tough exposure to pull off and you pulled it off. Maybe a little extra saturation in the greenry but who am I to say. Could I do as well? I doubt it.

    What an awesome spot.
I would love to be standing there.

My first thought is the green area seems a little bright. The mountain behind it is quite dark so the lightness of the greenery does not look quite right to my eye anyway..

I agree with the other posters. Maybe a longer exposure prior to the sun hitting the peak...or wait longer until you get a little more light on the subject.

Still a very nice photo, definitely an eye catcher!!
