Red-tailed Hawk
Went looking for Eagles again this morning. Found 6, but they were about 1/2 mile away. :cry
I was fortunate though to find this guy. At first he was eating his breakfast out in the field, and then flew up on a fence post. Unfortunately, he flew to the south side of the road which caused him to be side lit with shadows. Those Raptors just seem to know how to make it as difficult as possible to capture.

Is that "natural" bokeh???? It is gorgeous. Looks like a studio shot in a way. I get good bokeh with my 400, but I am often too far away, almost always, to get bokeh like that.
going back to bed NOW!

Thank you Ginger, Yep that's the natural bokeh of the lens. I was fortunate to have a nice background, now if I just would have had a natural perch and a front lit bird, it would have been perfect.

Thank you Thusie, I didn't mention that I think he was eating a squirrel in that first shot.

The hawk shots are razor sharp, the contrast of the sharply focused birds against a softly blurred background is pleasing to the eye, and the framing is complementary. As usual, professionally done and a pleasure to view. Keep the pictures coming.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
