Here ya go Harry, a few close ups of egrets I caught, while Nightingale and I were in Fla.

This black background was shot in-camera, not in PS too, at Gatorland!!:):

I didn't hear anything about only white birds, so here's a reddish one. Actually, Harry has informed me that this is a little blue heron.

And another little blue heron.

And another Great Egret close up.

Enjoy egret portaiture!!:): All shot with a 20D. White egrets 300mm. Little Blue Herons 500mm

Nice series of egrets, Jim. thumb.gif That Gatorland was an awsome place to shoot. I hope to get back there many more times. I especially liked the snake free walkways. :uhoh :D

    Hey PF,

Great shots of the great egret. You caught their lores turing green for the impending mating season very well.

Those are two fine shots of the little blue heron also. It looks a lot like the reddish egret.

I see, I see - I misssed the bill coloration difference!

THIS is a reddish egret isn't it?

The other images were little blue herons - not juveniles - full grown. I am still learning! Thanks Harry for being so diplomatic:):

Yep that's the reddish egret. The other two were adult little blues. Juvenile little blues look like this

They look just like snowy egrets but the give away is their greyish bill.

Nice shots Jim. I really like your angle in the first Little Blue shot. They were a bit more skittish than the rest weren't they, little blues that is. I noticed whenever there was a little blue with a tri-colored that the tri-colored would chase off the little blue.
