Shot this evening at 7:30pm before the clouds moved in again. Iused my green laser to help with the alignment, but I thought I'd take a few shots without the beam.
After all, I had my two-year-old son in one arm (showing his appreciation by trying to kick the tripod), which made it a formidable challenge in zooming in, etc..
Now I've got those laser shots if you'd like to see them, but this time I ended up shooting the Old Hunter right through the belt! Who want's to see that, right?!
This one was taken with my Nikon E5400 at ISO 400, 4 sec and f/3.9, no zoom, but cropped then resized (I'm still a little green with cropping; I didn't like the result with just resizing the original). Oh, and 4 seconds seems to be all the longer I can expose stars before rotational arcing becomes noticeable.
