Are you wrapping yourself in bacon again to get these shots?? I think the coyote is evaluating you as suitable for lunch. Great captures, but they are wild, remember.:D

Trust me, the fact that they are wild never escapes me..
This Coyote and I had met before, at least I think so, markings and scars on the nose were exactly the same.
Outstanding shots, Ed. Boy, those eyes are scary. :uhoh How far away were you?
I saw a coyote from my upstairs bedroom window this morning. He was down in my grove eating oranges. I didn't have time to go downstairs to get my camera. But, he wouldn't have made much of a picture. He was small and skinney and soaking wet from the rain. He looked starved. He was gulping those oranges down almost whole. Maybe one chomp and then guuulp. Poor little thing. He was looking around all the time, I think he could smell our dogs, who were both in the house at the time.
I don't thing anyone could get very close to these coyotes around here. For sure not this one. He was really looking alert and then ran off after a few minutes. I wish they'd do a better job of killing all the rabbits that eat my garden.

Thanks Snappy, I was about 6 feet away or so.. Some of these coyotes are so used to people they could really care less about some guy with a camera, bonus for me...
Wise old man, looks like to me. Are there any pups around now?

Ya know Ginger, I have yet to see a coyote pup in person.. Time for a little research I guess, I bet the rangers up there would have an idea where and when I might catch a glimpse..
