Paczki, pronounced "punch-key" is a Polish Roman Catholic tradition to celebrate the last excess before Lent. Basically the Polish version of Fat Tuesday. Traditionally paczki were made to use up all the lard, sugar, and fruit in the house before Lent. If you pass any Polish bakerys this morning you will now know why there are lines out the doors. I went to Weber's Bakery on Archer Ave this morning at 4:45AM and there was already a line out the door with people buying them 3 or 4 dozen at a time. So even if your not Polish go out and get yourself a Paczki today, you won't regret it.

My favorite, fresh strawberry with chocolate on top:

This mornings order: 4 fresh strawberry, 6 custard, 6 strawberry jelly, 6 apple cinammon, and one cheese.
