Any suggestions??

I have been playing around with some preset photshop actions for converting photos to B&W. I've found one of my better photos from redwood national park and have been trying to optimize it in B&W. Heres what i've done with it so far. If anyone knows how to better bring out the texture of the trees, please let me know.

    I'm no expert here, but the first thing I'd reach for with hand a-tremblin' is the mid-tone. A slight tweak of the contrast might help, too.
