I usually leave the camera in my car (don't tell the car thieves) and sometimes it comes in handy...a red-tailed hawk from yesterday...

Lovely in flight image Keith. Looks like there may be a sharpening halo around the bird.

    not so sure...
sometimes you get some artifacts from smugmug resizing that are not in the original - but the bird was backlit and those white edge tail feathers actually did look quite similar in the original. I'll have another go at processing it again in a day or two...thanks for looking. regards...keith

Good capture Keith. I think most of the haloing on the shot comes from the lighting. I have run into that myself on more than one occasion.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I like it very much Keith. The edges don't bother me, and I'm glad your camera was handy.

The bottom looks a little unnaturally light but there is lots of detail so that is the trade off.
Overall I really like the effect of the lighting against the blue sky.
Very well done, nice and sharp.
