Saturday Morning

I wanted to go down to the beach and try and get some early morning fog shots, but (a) no fog, and (b) I couldn't get close to the beach because it was blocked off for the Amgen Tour of California. So... I've been meaning to do a night shot of this Chinese restaurant for a long time, and I decided the time had come.

This one was shot through the window of my car, just for the heck of it. I didn't expect much, but I kind of liked the fact that the stuff on my windshield came out in the picture. I think it gives it some atmosphere!:wink

This is the shot I was after:

This is a shop which is about three doors to the left of the restaurant. Actually, I was taken by the single light on the second floor.

It turned out to be my morning for taking those shots that I'd been meaning to for a long time. This is an aging apartment building that doesn't seem to get much maintenance. I've been driving by it for about twelve years, and I don't think it's had a lick of paint in all that time.

These were all shot with a Canon 20d. The night shots were done at iso 1600. For the first shot, I steadied the camera on the steering wheel, for Nos. 2 and 3 I used a tripod.
Lord, keep my words sweet. Someday, I may have to eat them.
