RAW Shooter Essentials 2006 Now Available

I just happened to notice that RSE 2006 Version 1.2 has been released by Pixmantec. I have been using the 2005 version quite happily since I started shooting RAW four months ago. The new version is still free (as in beer). New features include:

Right click magnifier
Color spot meter
Button to pause proxy creation
Scroll wheel control of sliders
Improved EXIF data display

There are a number of other additions that I have not had a chance to try, like auto exposure and white balance adjustment and hot pixel/pattern noise suppression. I tend to use RSE adjustments minimally (exposure, white balance and sometimes noise reduction) and do most of my corrections in CS2. What I like best about RSE is how well the previewing, pruning and sorting functions are designed. They are a pleasure to use and fit well into my workflow.

Mandatory disclosure: I have nothing whatsoever to do with Pixmantec. I'm just a happy camper.
