You just "gotta" post this in the camera forum. Many people will miss it here.

    New Hasselblad
On the request of Ziggy I have reposted this here, mods feel free to delete the old thread in news & events.

HERE is the new Hasselblad. Not cheap, but what a great camera!

What do you think the chrome winder knob does on this digital version? I know its there for looks and to carry over the classic style, but does it spin? does it get in the way? can you hang your hat on it?

Regardless, I want one. Hassy's are sweet!

And did you notice who makes the sensor? (Sony)

Thing I like is the huuuuuge sensor and the Carl Zeiss lens. Very nice camera indeed.

Maybe it winds a spring for the shutter?

It's $14,000. And they are only making a limited edition number.

I heard $10,000 but that was just a "flying number" I caught, not in writing on any official site. But yes the Hasselblad website says they're only making 500 or 5000 of these babies, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were $10,000 - $14,000!!!

And if I were rich, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one!

My darkslide is tingling...Not so sure about the 1.5x crop factor. An 80 mm planar is pretty flat and the classic 150 for portraits would put you at 15-20 feet from subject for a 3/4 body, in another state for a full length. I guess the 120mm short tele is going to be back in demand (for 500 well healed users who could probably give a crap about working distance)
