    #2 is your strongest shot. Horizon and crop being the two things to work
    on. #2 has a ball, a face and some action. All three, lighting looks good.

    Thanks for the comments. I was so focused on focus that I didn't see the sloping floor! Still more to learn!

    Oh yeah, he's the starting quarterback, who in the state championship game, had to play running back, and he steamrolled some people. He is quite an athlete!

    Re: cropping, how tight would you go?

    Focus and exposure are good. I also like the bokeh and the backgrounds.
    You've left the audience in the shot but out of focus enough that they're
    not distracting and players don't blend in.

    Here's how I might crop #2.
