Beware all you bird people...there's a new bird man in town. My son and I went on our first "shootout" together last Sunday. I had just delivered to him a replacement camera (Casio Exilim EX-Z120 7.2 - fun little consumer camera) for the Christmas present I bought him which was stolen along with his car in January. :cry The pelicans were dive-bombing everywhere as he discovered the joy of shooting along with the pain of realizing his lens was inadequate!! He is not too keen about having his photo taken....could it be all those years of Mom taking his photo everyday??? But with him behind the lens, I was able to take photos of him while he thought I was shooting birds. (This probably should be posted in PEOPLE, but you birders probably never go there!)

Color or B&W...I can never decide. Highlights a tad blownout. Beach was very overcast and photos looked so flat...grey water, grey sand...

All the rocks are covered with this beautiful green moss...looks like Ireland!

Tricky. Good idea, keep him busy and he won't notice that you're taking his picture. Oh, pictures of offspring do qualify as wildlife shots. rolleyes1.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Hehe...
I have some bird photos to process... isn't it nice to see your children enjoying photography? I've got two of mine hooked (my only two), but one takes photos of my grandson. That poor little guy, from the day he was born he's had a camera stuck in his face. A friend sent him a digital camera to play with and he grabs his mom's Sony S75 (which my other daughter bought from another friend of mine) which she sold to my daughter when I handed down my Sony 707 to her after buying my Sony 828. Is that clear as mud? That's the reason I never sell my cameras -- there's a whole line of family lusting over my cameras! If I could sell them, I'd be on my way to a dSLR :D

You have nice gray sand, I have dark, dark brown sand to contend with. It looks like you and your son had a blast! And, hey, you still got pelicans, my favorite bird!
