Cormorant take off series. Early morning light and reflections off the water. I forget exactly where this was taken...but know it was during the wild and crazy Florida MI3 shoot. :dunno :scratch Where were the cormorants?
I think it was "Gatorland" :scratch

Thanks for looking.

Lovely series Mike, great action captured and some reflections too! Although, next time I think you should ask for smoother water eek7.gifmwink.gifrolleyes

Thanks Russ, Thusie & Steve. I appreciate you taking the time to looksee 'n' comment.

Steve...it was that darn warm tropical breeze causing the ripples on the water. Guess we all can't have frozen flat ice mirrors on our ponds this time of year. rolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gif

Twp excellent series Mike. I prefer the second one because the first had a few blow outs.

Good captures of an extremely difficult subject. I have tried to capture them landing and taking off w/o your success here. clap.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks Laurie and Harry. Appreciate you taking a look.

Harry...did I blow highlights? Something's gotten funky with ACR and the conversions. In the EOS viewer the originals (pre conversion) look underexposed a tad..if anything. Definitely no blown highlights. I better put a rush on reading that ACR book. I use to convert in EOS viewer when I was extra lazy. I think this resulted in better conversion...but supposedly ACR is better? I'll mention this again.. I HATE POST RPOCESSING. I just want to mash on the trigger.... shoot ...shoot..shoot..shoot. :gun2 :rambo :gun2

god those are ugly birds when they're taking off. nothing like a duck or
egret--almost as if they just lumber into the sky.

beautiful series though. i especially like the second set too.

Thanks Jeff and Ian. These are not the most attractive birds...nor the most graceful at take off. They are fun to shoot...though.

Jeff...those eagle shots are coming...along with the pineapple pizzas. :D
