Not the best thing going, but I had a lot of fun shooting a pair of Tufted Titmouse today. I really am digging the D200--I slightly cropped this, and it was still over 8 MP.
Why is it whenever I hear "tufted titmouse" a rodent comes to mind??? Anyway...I like this shot. Yes, the background distracts somewhat from the bird, but I actually kind of like the blue juxtaposed against the white tree trunk. It doesn't really bother me and I get bored seeing birds against plain backgrounds. Yep, I like it!

I agree. The perfect background can be taken too far. In nature birds don't sit on perches with nothing behind them very often.
Why was I expecting to see a mouse?
I have no clue about english birds names...
Lovely shot. So you have the coveted D200??????? Is on my wishing list.
Nice colors you got.
Actually, I fell through ice into a river today. I had not realized that I was even on a river (okay, small stream) because it was partly overgrown with tufts of grass. So I fell in, realized that I was in the middle of a stream and managed to fall again in the panick to get off of unknown ice. Sprained my wrist, too. Thankfully my camera was not with me at this point. Then my right foot and calf were wet, freezing and muddy for the last hour of the hike.
Good capture. So far I'm very impressed with the shots I'm seeing from the D200 (of course having a good photographer using it doesn't hurt either ).

I wish my D2H skies were as clean as your D200 skies. But I bet you didn't fall in the river while bird hunting this morning like I did.
