egrets aren't the only ones who "flip"

I caught a Nuthatch pretending he was an egret with its patented fishy flip today.

Also added a much better photo of an eastern bluebird on its way through our parts this year (they only come through in the late winter very early spring). I cropped this one quite a bit, but I'm still really impressed with the results from my new-to-me VR. :D

The bluebird shot is excellent Erik. I'm assuming you're talking about the 70-200 2.8 VR.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

thanks greaper. the nuthatch is a fast bird, he got it alright. thumb.gif

**I'm actually not sure what "it" is though. I'm guessing a bug, but even at really close crop, I can't be sure.

Thanks Harry! Yes, that's the lens - my first real outing with it. I was lucky a few of the little guys sat pretty for me while I approached. I have to say, I miss having a 300mm with a 1.4x TC for the birds, but like I pointed out, this lens is so sharp and perfect that even heavy crops look pretty good. I'd say that bluebird as you see it was less than 50% of the original frame.
