wanted to keep this post separate from my other..... was in a very dim lit room - one bulb on.... my wife was holding our new niece who we have only seen a few times... i was trying to capture a "moment"... it could have been better - but i still like it... im not sure about
color and tint however... i shot at ISO 1600 with the 50 mm f/1.4
boy did i screw this up but i still have a RAW i can fool around with..

use hue and saturation to take some yellow out and add a little red (using saturation)-

or tweak balance and tint in raw-

    sharpen a little-

    I think it's a 'moment'-

    hue/saturation-yellow-dropped sat about halfway-
    the red-added sat to taste-
levels and curves-small adjustments for contrast, brightness, etc-
clone tool-just to touch up some small imperfections-
    smart sharpen-didn't need much-
    vignetting-
click on create new layer at bottom of layers-
click on 'd' to bring black to foreground-
alt and backspace (pc) fill layer with black-
use rectangular marguee tool to for vignetting-spacing to taste (1/2 to 1 inch from edges)-
go to select>feather radius of 50 to 150 (more for greater resolution)-
click on backspace to open up selection created by the marquee-
use opacity slider to lower strength of vignetting as to taste-
    deselect-

credt to s kelby from his photoshop cs2 book for the vignetting steps-

you can email me gefillmore@hotmail.com or continue here with questions if you have any-your choice-

    my pleasure-

you can also add a blur to it-
    some like 'em, some don't-

    dup layer-
    filter>gaussian blur rad of 20-
use opacity slider to get it where you like it-
using this tends to lighten the pic some, imo, so I tweak again with levels and curves-

    hey, seriously, my pleasure-

photoshop is the miracle healer and it can bring dead photographs back to life (yours wasn't even close to that, but I've had quite a few dead ones)-

if you have any questions, feel free to ask via dg or email-
