My First.....
Being a newbie, and still working at getting my SmugMug gallery up and running, I thought I'd share my first (wild) Bald Eagle shot, taken in 2004. I was on my way to the Mississippi River to see hundreds of eagles when I ran across this one just a few minutes from home.
I got pretty lucky, as this guy had a dinner right in front of me, while a juvenlie stood by. I was using my Digital Rebel (new then) with my 300L IS F4 lens, hand held, and yes this is a crop!:dunno
This year I returned to the Rock River in Oregon IL, where the above pic was taken, and found another eagle. They seem to be making a come back in the area. This one was shot with the 300L plus a 2X teleconverter, propped on my car window....no time for a tripod. IS certainly helped. Here is the second...
Just thought I'd share, and see if I got the linking system down!
PS.....tons of great shots on here!:thumb

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
Thanks Harry!
I think eagles are making a comeback in many places. I heard they might even take them off he endangered list. I know we've been seeing more around here than ever before. I wish I had some zooooom to capture them! I usually see one across the river. Too far for my cam. Welcome to the forum!
