Trying to locate a Nikon MC-35 cable

You have probably seen me requesting a bulk geo cordinates upload feature for both SM and SE. As it appears that may be a distant future item, I am exploring other routes. One of the reasons I bought the D200 was the GPS capability.

Now I need to locate an MC-35 cable. Does anyone know a trusted source that has one in stock? My usual sites like B&H, Ritz, and Adorama are out of stock.

I see a real use for coordinates and mapping in my photography and I really would like to get this started. Any help would be appreciated.

EVERYONE seems out of stock...the only other places to keep checking are Amazon.com, onecall.com and jr.com. None have it but keep checking as the stock seems to come and go quickly...like everything else with the D200!

I don't know if they still have them in stock but you may want to try Norman Camera. http://www.normancamera.com/shop/SearchResults.asp?ProdStock=25314.

One more...try calling Competitive Cameras in Dallas. I've ordered from them before with success. They're a really huge store. Their prices are ok...probably on par with J&R but they have been known to have inventory that most don't. They don't sell online and that's probably why. They do have a site so you can get their number...

Thanks for the info. I emailed Norman last night before I got your message. I was going to call competitive this morning. They are a few hours behind us in time zones.

    Thanks for looking.

Any luck with Norman or Competitive? I've got a friend looking for one as well...Nikon accessories are sure tough to come by right now.

Negative. I called competitive yesterday and he kinda laughed when I asked. He said it would be a few weeks before he would have any more.

    Finding the D200 was easier.

The other option is going with the red hen system. They said they were in stock and would ship right away. I am not really interested in that system. Maybe they bought up all of the cables :-)

I've seen that around...any idea what they're charging? Their site is kinda vague...do they sell you the gps also? It's nice that it mounts to the hotshoe tho. I think you're right...they own every MC-35 on the planet...

    Thanks for the info...

I got an email back from them stating around 395. Tht is way to high. It uses the hotshoe as a mount. That interferes with using a flash so I am not interested. They do not include the GPS. You can order it seperately on their site.
