I shot the dress rehearsal Wednesday night and pulled together my favorite shots into a gallery with a plot summary.

Getting all the shots really required by shooting one dress rehearsal, well that's hard. I didn't actually accomplish it. There are a few key moments in Act II where Lise hides Colas in her room and where Simone locks Lise in the same room which I wish I had. So there is a challenge left for the next time I get to shoot one of these for a classic narrative ballet (probably Les Noce and Carmen in May.) i'd like to get the shots to illustrate a children's book for one of these.
If not now, when?

Looks wonderful. I am jealous of your successful exposure. This will be an interesting childrens book. Lovely photograph, with lots of color, a very nice theater shot... The people on stage look very much alive. Nice !

    Rutt,

    A beautiful capture, gorgeous color.

My son has a play coming up in a couple of weeks. I can't wait to see where I have to sit to get anything significant.

    Thanks,

Rutt, that shot is terrific! Sharp, lovely color, looks really nice. I'll go thru your gallery later, when I have time.

I love that shot, Rutt. Makes me feel happy: like a ballet should, for me.

Sid, I'm tempted, but I shall refrain.

    Well done
Though I'm not an opera fan your photos and story give a good explanation and understanding of the action. This approach might well make opera more accessible to a wider audience. Your photos show off the grace and athleticism of the performers and the color and pageantry of the performance quite well. Mereimage
