Cute. I'm sure she will love it. I really like the depth of field. You might consider a tighter crop to eliminate some of the background and whatever is in the lower left hand corner. Nice expression & pose. Shooting dogs can be a challenge. Nice job.
But I find that shot terrifying, like one of those internet things that you're supposed to stare at for a really long time and then there's this scary face and a really loud noise and you jump out of your skin. That kind of scary.

thanx david, and i have to say that the "pop tutorial" - the one where you taught me to use curves and the eye dropper thing to get a black point has really made my images kinda stand-out more, IMHO.
