    Different
Stunning, has immediate "wow" factor... but (you knew there'd be a but, right?) I think the strawberry could be a bit redder and the plate whiter... and maybe closer to the strawberry?

Do you know about this ?

    Your photo is very nice.
May be a little more detail in the shadow of the strawberry...
And better enhancement of the colors...

    Very nice!!

Here is what I see though in looking at the berry in the dish....fill the bowl with some milk and show it spalshing down into the bowl. This sounds familiar, where have I seen this before? Hmmmm, just an idea! ne_nau.gif

I'm really not into un-natural foods & esp. colour but in this case the strawb could be redder - it just doesn't look very apetizing.
but other than that it's nicely executed.

Very nice picture, almost perfect....except for the not quite red enough strawberry.

Thanks for your feedback everybody. After a few minutes in Photoshop I came up with these. I think the strawberry looks better in number 2, but the shading is a touch more realistic in number 3. What do you think?

    Number 2

dan, i hope you dont take offense, but i really like your photo and wanted to offer some help. i came up with this in 5 mins in photoshop. it's a little dirty, there's some noise on the plate that needs to be removed and i may have gone overboard on the lightening, but the basic steps were:
    • levels to set w/b points
    • lab curve (basic POP formula with a little extra time spent on the L channel)
    • USM on the L channel (low radius, low amount)
    • duplicate layer, dodge darkest area of strawberry
    • set blending mode of dupe layer to screen, opacity 40%
    • mask off the strawberry
keep at it, it's a really striking entry. thumb.gif

Thanks BWG. I already tried the lab pop and usm on the l channel. I'll try the other methods as well. thumb.gif
