Watermarking?

Last night I setup a gellery http://www.caseserve.com/gallery/1270072
or http://caseserve.smugmug.com/gallery/1270072

Prior to uploading I setup the gallery preferences to watermark the images. None of them are watermarked?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

    Hi John,

    According to SmugMug Help:
    http://www.smugmug.com/help/image-protection

Gotchas: We do not watermark photos whose longest size is equal to or less than 800 pixels because a display copy and the original are the same image. We can't watermark the original because it would interfere with printing.

Your files in that gallery are only 600px on the long side. You're offering them for sale? All you can sell at that resolution is wallets...

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks,
    Andy,
Thanks for the quick response. No I'm not anticipating any sales of them. Nor would I want people printing out proofs. But I wanted to make sure that people are aware that they are unedited proofs. Therefore I wanted the word proof on them. I'm have mixed feelings about putting unedited pictures up. But I figured that if I watermark them it would let people know exactly what they are.

If I resize to 800 pix on the longest side would they then get the watermark? Or do I need to resize to 801 pix?

    Thanks,

John -- it's all there in my post, and the Help Section link. "equal to or less than 800 pixels..." So yeah, you'd need to make them 801 pixels or larger. I don't know what else I can do to explain it more or better? Let me know if you need more help,

    Andy,

Any update on improved watermarking via Smugmug? The big PROOF is just too distracting.

Digimarc might be worth looking into for some. I know its used a lot in the paintshop pro circle by those who create tags, sigs etc & by some artists. For more info Click Here
