Slow smugmug?

I am experiencing a very slow Smugmug at the moment www.shimmerimages.smugmug.com. Is anyone else having problems or is it a localised problem?

Your page loaded in 4.198 seconds and I've never been there so nothing on your page is in my cache (except smugmugBlack.css).

I'd call that speedy

EDIT: I just looked at a speed report and you've got 2 images you should consider making smaller.

http://shimmerimages.smugmug.com/photos/42851968-L.jpg is over 23k which is massive for what it is. I'd consider making tha ta gif file and uploading it again.

and

http://shimmerimages.smugmug.com/photos/42851968-L.jpg is over 5k and it's just a single orange line. You could use html and css to get that same 5k line for just a few bytes.

Thanks - I'll have a look. I am in the UK & my site isn't normally so slow, so I am sure that the problem isn't to do with the size of the files mentioned.

Yeah, you're right, I should have clarified. The image size thing was a separate issue but one you should investigate. You will be able to cut their size by lots and lots by saving them in a different file format.
