Those things are uuuugly. Glad they freeze out up here on the tundra. A comment on composition. It applies here as well as the bird photo (first post). Both critters have a purpose in their daily activities. The bird and the 'gator are hunting. I'd like to see the composition capture some surroundings that give a greater sense of the hunt. Is the bird staring over a large expanse of water with a sense of hopelessness or is there prey right there. Is the alligator ready to pounce? Where's the prey? Can you put the subject in a more clearly defined setting?
Actually, in the bird photo, I was on a trail and came up behind the bird. This particular bird is a juvenile and was not far from the nesting site. As for my gator friend, I was in a kayak, and the gator was being a bit inquisitive. Thanks for asking!
