It's not that I am a Royalist. I just happen to live a block away from the Royal Palace. Since I can hear the drums from my living room, I always know when festivities are in progress. I believe yesterday's party was in honor of a visiting head of state.

Thanks to all. Madrid is an interesting place. No egrets or eagles though. Or snake boxes :D. Guess you can't have everything.

It doesn't happen every day, but the horses are out often enough that most residents pay little attention. The King and his horses don't have much to do with buying the groceries or paying the rent. The tourists, on the other hand, just love the show.

Thanks for the comments. #1 is also my favorite in this group.
