Any thoughts on how to stop google from displaying the atom feeds?
Based on google's comments on this page:
http://www.google.com/webmasters/remove.html
It looks like you can modify the robots.txt file to stop google from indexing specific directories/file types on a website. Is there already a robots.txt file on smugmug sites? Can it be edited? Is the feed information located only in the /hack directory? if so, is it possible to add to something like the following:
User-agent: Googlebot
Disallow: /hack
or perhaps a more specific solution might be
User-agent: Googlebot
Disallow: /feed.mg$
Any reason why google would suddenly start indexing smugmug feeds? The same thing just happened to my wife's site.
Do you know she's hitting on me for advice in another thread
