Hi all!

I've been a little shy to post my pics for opinions, but I guess it's time to get a little braver and see what you folks think.

I'm trying to decide if any of the following pics have enough merit to be entered in the current food challenge. So even though I've been in the background more often that not at dgrin (definition: mostly a lurker lately) I hope you'll help me figure things out here. Thanks in advance for your replies! ~Nee :)

#4 Server (Girl with a Silver Earring)

    I like #2
Provided you crop it in a way that only table part is visible...
    Good luck!thumb.gif

    Thanks, Nikolai!

I'll see what I can do. Not sure if I'm in "love" with any of these, but it's not looking like I'll have an opportunity to shoot anything else before the challenge is over (A stinking rotten truly awful cold/flu bug has got hold of me, and I'm pretty much down for the count...I've got a bad cough, congestion, headache, ear ache, body aches, fever, and some really gunky funky junk in my nose and throat...ugh!!!) ~Nee :sick

Thanks, guys! I really appreciate your thoughts and input. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll feel up to really wrapping my brain around your comments. This cold/flu bug has really got me knocked out. Thanks for all your get well wishes, too. Hopefully, the worst has passed and tomorrow will be a (much!) better day...

mm, #3 looks like a good beer. though, i'll have to agree with another comment and say that the slant doesn't do anything for the photo. i like the setup and dof and even the nice "pub" like light but the slant makes it not as good as it could be.

    Thanks, kud and turnip!

That's what I get for attempting to edit pics when I'm flat out sick, lol! I actually tilted the beer glass on purpose, tho...maybe not enough to make it look like it's falling off the page? Oh well. I'll have to try again when I'm feeling more up to it.

I'm heading to bed now, (my home within our home of late), so if any more folks post replies tonight I hope you'll be patient with me cuz' I prob'ly won't be responding until some time tomorrow.

    Cheers!

Hey there, from what I read, I hope you get better soon too. The best cure for stress is rest. mwink.gif

Anyway I like the shot with the beer at the bar, it is a bit sideways but I like that one the most. I know you're aiming for the tipsy feel, but I think it will look great when the glass is at a 90 degree angle with the table in the photo. I think you can pull off a 'selective color/b/w+color' accent on that shot too, just a thought :):

My next fav would be the second one from the top. I like the repeatitiveness on that photo, I would sharpen up the first plate closest to your camera though and maybe play just with the levels & curves just a quick tad to enhance the colors. Lastly, maybe crop the bottom part off where its all dark/black. It takes attention away from the salad.
