Direct image access by original filename?

Is it possible to access an image directly by its original filename? For example, if I had an image at:
mynick.smugmug.com/gallery/654321/1/123456

I can directly reference the images by going to:
mynick.smugmug.com/photos/123456-Ti.png
mynick.smugmug.com/photos/123456-Th.png
mynick.smugmug.com/photos/123456-O.png
etc...

But, if that file was original called "carphoto.jpg", is there a way to use:
mynick.smugmug.com/photos/carphoto-O.jpg
or
mynick.smugmug.com/photos/654321-carphoto-O.jpg

?

So you uploaded a photo - just get it's ID, pick a size and after the size you can basicly add whatever text you want to - the smugmug server doesn't care, so for sure you can add the original filename in the link if you want.
    'mynick.smugmug.com/photos/123456-L-carphoto.jpg' would work
    'mynick.smugmug.com/photos/123456-L-my-original-filename-is-carphoto.jpg' would work too. :D

The SM-server just ignores what comes after you specified the size.

    I hope this helps,

No, there's no way to do that. (Someone can correct me if I'm wrong) The Smumug image ID has to be in the URL.

If what you want to do is reference your images from an external site using the names you originally gave them, you'll need to have a way to correlate the original name with the Smugmug ID.

One way to get that data is to use Nikolai's Star Explorer, which saves the Smugmug ID in a local database when the file is uploaded. You can then export that data and import it into another database, etc.

Of course you can also do it manually, but that's a pain with a lot of images.
