A non-Eagle

Sadly, it appears as though the Hudson River eagles have left the area. Our town is on their migratory path as they follow the river south to escape the ice. My vacation last week was ill-timed, as I probably could have gotten in another day or two of shooting them. C'est la vie. Next year I'll be ready for them.

I did get a couple of shots of this little critter this AM. Perhaps somebody can identify it. These are taken with the Canon 100-400, at fairly close range. While it has a reputation for being soft, the 100-400 seems to do as well as anything in these conditions. ISO800, btw.
