My Son Was sitting in a window looking at the passing buses, cars, trucks, trains, etc. And I got some really cute pictures of him in the window. I liked the lighting a lot.

But I wanted to get a clear picture of him, and the cars behind him. And I started thinking about stacking pictures, or an apperature setting that would expand my DOF so I could get the shot I wanted. - Is there any trick? or do I just need to stack them?

You can use a small aperature, expose for the background and use fill flash. Here is a quick shot I took of one of my "cooperative" kids a few minutes ago. It was shot with my Canon 20D, 28-105 F3.5-346 at F20 @ 1/30th of a second, with my 550EX set at -1 1/3 power. You may have to tinker with the settings, but you'll find it.

The sun was setting, so it was getting a bit dark out, making the flash more noticable. Good Luck!:D

Opps, I made a mistake, the flash was set at -2/3 in this shot...FYI.

    Oops
I messed up too - I could have sworn I shot these at f22 - but checking the Exif my camera was set to f2.8 instead...

That would explain things a little better....
