We do, well, at least from the mom's side... Great expression on her face, but the ribbon coming and going nowhere is distracting... I might have cropped it off. The essence is her face and the balloon, so you would not miss the ribbon...

I cloned out the ribbon, cropped, lightened eyes, tweaked or 'popped' with levels and curves, tweaked on color some, and sharpened-

some fill flash might have worked better here-

Better....now can you remove the shadow on her face from the @%#!! ribbon??

couple thoughts-

if you're shooting with available light, do it where you have control of the available light and shadows produced-

if you don't; if your shots are more candid, think about using fill flash-

the better you take a photo to begin with, the easier it is to pp-I know this is a 'duh!', but if you have the opportunity, think through your shots before you take them-
