I have never tried a technique like this, but I kind of like the results. I converted to B&W and added a little noise. This is my 21 month old son, Timothy.........What do you guys think???

Thanks..................John

The first shot is nice, but I LOVE the second shot!

That is one of the best "noisy" shots I have seen, smile!

A bit too much noise, IMO.

Have you seen Andy's Tri-X Tutorial?

Why is this image better in B&W than in color?

The image seems low in contrast, without good blacks or whites, merely greys.

I think the first shot in color might be very good,on the other hand.

I love B&W, even B&W grainy images, but I must confess that I don't associate B&W grainy images with young children generally. I tend to think of B&Ws in dark, graphic images of bands, bars, WeeGee's world, etc.

I shot hundreds of Tri-X shots of my own children years ago, shot in low light where I could not have captured the scene without flash. Looking at them today, I usually wish they had been in color. ne_nau.gif
