Original Prototype Black Rebel

I went on a quickie photo shot in San Jose today and got to see waht looks like the original prototype for the black Rebel. :D (The owner hates silver, and wants nothing to do with white lenses.)

    OK, I'll play devil's advocate here. If he hates silver, then why would he cover it up with silver duct tape? ne_nau.gif

    Looks like black gaffer's tape, to me. The sun's hitting it.

    OK, that explains it. Looked greyish to me. Does gaffer's tape come in all the fun colors of duct tape?

    Gaffer's tape is Duct Tape Supreme. and at $14/roll or whatever it is, it had better be.

    It's not slick on the back like Duct Tape, but it's cool.

    I think gaffer tape comes in 8 or 16 colors.

    I looked at the picture before reading what you said and I thought he duct taped it together.

    Did you tell him the drebel comes in a black model? Might be easier and cheaper considering how much gaffer tape runs now.

    The owner is a little off kilter, but she's cute!, and nice. :D I took a few photos of her and in some shots she looks like Julia Roberts. You look like Julia Roberts you can tape up your camera. rolleyes1.gif

    That looks like the Black/white cobra skin www.cameraleather.com sells in a kit to releather old cameras. I considered redoing the leather on my Minolta Autocord in red lizard skin, but I think I'll get it CLA'd first.
