i spent yesterday morning along the mississippi. there were eagles and hawks everywhere, most of them out of reach of even my 400 lens. there were still trumpeter swans and geese swimming, along with some neat ducks.

here's a few from the day......

goldeneye (not great photo, but i had never seen one before)

hawks. i saw three of them circling the road. they were after something in the trees, i could see them back there diving and then arguing about it. then they were right over head......awesome

one of the ones with the nest on the river. i am going to go back there again and try to get closer......there is a little park area nearby closer to the shore, but these guys are across the river.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

you could be right. i took a very long distance shot of them in the tree, and they DO look like eagles, now that you mention it. now i know where i'm headed next saturday. it's like eagle mania all over minnesota lately.

Nice series Laurie, I also think that last one is a juve eagle.
