Wow - looks great! The site had been looking decidedly tired.
Thanks for noticing, Ross -- Baldy's behind it, and the whole team's been working on it for a bit There are actually a few variations, depending on how you get to our page.
At the end of the tour, there are two clickable choices, "free trial" and "more info"
Yeah, I saw that, and maybe it's your plan to give the visitor no option but to head off down either of these alleys. However my reaction was "can I just step back and understand where I am?"
Don't get me wrong, I'm not critical of the makeover and the fresh new look - I think it's great! Congratulations to all concerned.

We appreciate the feedback Ross. In fact, Baldy's next job is to update the quick tour

After coming off the home page, the tour looks just....awful. :uhoh And doesn't make the points we want to make.
They locked the guy who designed it in a room and told him not to come out until we get a better one, one that includes our most important messages and has a look more like our home page.
I expect they'll let me out in two weeks. See you then.
Tables... We've joined the ranks of the heathen — Apple, Google, Amazon...
Wow looks great....cant wait for the updated tour. Any reason why the links to info from PC Mag and Mossberg dont work? Like to read about others who agree with me..
Monthly traffic wrong in the tour??
I thought the monthly traffic limits were increased but the tour has the old numbers.... http://www.smugmug.com/tour2/price
What determines which one you see?
After the change, I only see the barbershop boy so far.
Going directly to our homepage right now will only serve up that image. We are displaying all four for content driven by our advertising in order to find out which ones are the best.
bye bye neon
A not-so-fond farewell to the garish neon colors of the previous mainpage. You seem to have standardized on green as the accent color for the smuggy and other attention grabbers. That's much more tolerable and it bridges the gap better across the range of smugmug users (pro photographers through happy-snappy soccer moms).

It looks modern and fresh, but could the navigation not be entirely as you want it?
I found that when I took the tour, I finished up in no man's land without an obvious way back to the home page - or is it just me that gets lost?
Thanks Ross, for looking!

Interesting to see how influential the main photo is on a visitor's decision to subscribe. So far, Andy's barbershop boy is the clear winner.
We just started testing the sailor, a photo we discovered with PhotoRank that the masses keep voting to the top.
After the change, I only see the barbershop boy so far.
