Here are some pictures from the Parade at Saint Patrick's day in South Boston.
I used my D200 with a 70-200 f/2.8 VR lens, shot using NEF quality.
I set the tone to medium high contrast and the saturation to enhanced to get a somewhat more gritty and 'cold-day' look :=) (it was cloudy most of the day and it even snowed a little)
All picture are post-processed in Nikon Capture.
Wonder Woman
Sci Fi
Tin Man
Cold Day
Cheering
Horses

The results were mixed. At times i had a hard time obtaining sharp pictures. Even with or despite the VR on my lens...? Maybe some of the sharpeness issues were that i was sometimes too close to the subject (minimum focus distance).
I also discovered that with ISO200 and higher, the in-camera sharpeness setting of 'medium-high' and higher will worsen the noise quite a bit. It's MUCH better to set in-camera sharpening to none and apply USM later (in Photoshop/Nikon Capture).
Enjoy,
-- Anton.

I can't grasp the notion of time.
When I hear the earth will melt into the sun,
in two billion years,
all I can think is:
"Will that be on a Monday?"
