I "insert red heart symbol here" Windmills

We drove to Queen Wilhelmina's Garden at Golden Gate Park to see what was blooming. Some of the tulips were out, a lot still in bud. Lots of poppies were blooming, but they were pretty bedraggled looking due to our recent rains. I thought this poppy escaping from it's flower pod looked like a heart.

OK, I fixed the "purple blue hazinig" and replaced the photo... :-)

Oh dear, I'm a transplant to California, but I understand referring to San Francisco as "Frisco" is a no-no. Locals call it "the city" or San Francisco.

You can google Golden Gate Park. The windmill is at the western end of the park, right off the ocean. There are two windmills, one is being repaired and is at the southern end of the park. Queen Wilhelmina's Garden is at the northern side. The park forms a long skinny rectangle from east to west.

The park itself is near the Cliff House if you're familiar with that area. It's south, Cliff House being the north western most end of San Francisco. From the Cliff House southward is ocean, beaches, and walking trails. Also the Zoo is south of Golden Gate Park, along the ocean.

you've got some CA/Fringing on the edge of that windmill and the sky though don't you...:uhoh

maybe might have helped it if you'd taken off that pod thing too ne_nau.gif ... it took me awhile to figure out what it was and why it was on the tulip hiding the beautiful colors.thumb.gif

Taking of the pod? I think that is a main part of the image: we get to know what it looks like when a tulip is coming out and spring is kicking in. I agree on the purple fringing though. It doesn't bother me too much, but you might want to see what applying something like Shay's CA fix does to help.
enjoy being here while getting there

    It's not a tulip -- it's a poppy.... :):

I thought about the purple outlines on the tree and windmill, but it's so wide I thought it could be accepted as part of the bokeh...

It didn't really bother me that much, Laughing.gif.

    It's a poppy!

It's the first time I've seen one emerge from the pod like that, but then I'm not around emerging poppies that often, so it could be quite a common event.

I have my own method of getting rid of purple fringing, but I usually do both the magenta and blue colors to get rid of mine. And, sometimes green as well.

I didn't think it was that obnoxious, but since everyone's complaining...:D

    Thanks for the ID Angelo
I'll try to remember that, Icelandic in San Francisco... sort of an in joke since I moved from New York/New Jersey to San Francisco for the milder weather (and I've been freezing the last 3 months buried under buckets of rain!). I enjoyed the hail... but missed the snow, drat it all! Last time it snowed I went to Skyline drive and visited it... but I wasn't feeling that energetic or adventurous this season. Ian408 made it to the snow though! Traffic gets wild, of course, with everyone wanting to play in the snow, then go home to their warm houses!

We had snow tires on our cars when we first moved out and for a long time I couldn't understand the need for chains, until I thought of the difference in altitude and then my hubby told me they don't use salt our here. But neither of our cars can use chains so we just don't bother going. Getting those special spike things to fit our Saturns is just too $$$. Hubby says we can rent a car and chains... something to think about.
