Here are a few shots representing things that no longer exist, places that have been or are being irrevocably changed, or ways of life that are disappearing. Please post some of yours as well.

Jersey City

The Hudson and Manhattan Railroad Powerhouse

Built in 1908, this facility provided power to the "Hudson Tunnels", the first mass transit link between New York and New Jersey (under the Hudson river between Jersey City and Manhattan). Currently being redeveloped as a convention center.

The Funeral of Mayor Cunningham

Mayor Glenn Cunningham was the first African-American Mayor of Jersey City, and a man of universally recognized moral character (unusual for a Hudson County politician) He passed away in office from a massive coronary in 2004.

That cathedral is just gorgeous. How unfortunate such beauty has to cease. I am sure those lovely stained glass must be in a museum or something??? This is a neat idea for a thread...don't know if I have anything to add to your collection, but I will bump it up...someone else surely does! :D
