Hey folks,
I am going to be having an exhibition in April. I want to include a wide range of my photos, as this is my first exhibit, and I want to grab people's attention so that I have the possibilityof getting other local exhibitions. (this place is a little less "artsy" than the local galleries, but I know the gallery guys troll it for talent).
So, like every other Art show, this one needs just the right title- not too pretentious, but pretentious enough to get the folks to show up. I am coming up totally blank on this- so some help would be appreciated.
BTW, I gave about 2/3 of the printing assignment to Smugmug (with 1/3 held back for my local photo shop, which is much mre expensive, but , well local, and I don't want them to go out of business). I just got the photos delivered to my workplace 15 minutes ago. THEY LOOK GREAT! This was the first time that I ordered prints from the site, and I am pleased.
I am making a photo postcard to give to the loal establishments in order to promote the show. You can see from the postcard a sample of the type of work I am showing. I have a wide range of subjects, so I am going to be coupling a few images; Brooklyn Bridge next to U Bein's Bridge in Burma, for example; as well as the Fultn Fish Market next to the old Scott Market in Rangoon. The shots are primarily from Jersey City/New York, Burma, and Macau. So a sort of cultural comparison thing is in order.
I would really really appreciate help, especially from the folks who have done this sort of thing before. I have ZERO experience with this.

Thanks for the help!

I'm the little kid in the upper right corner.:D
Do you think I should include a photo of myself?
I am planning on having an "info sheet" available at the show which will give explanations of each shot, as well as a bit about myself, and my photographic philosophy (which means I have two weeks to develop one!)
The title 'so where are you?' is the photo speaking to the viewer ie...im all these diff places & it asks..'where are you ?'.
thanks humungus. I wish I could blame my missing that one on "australianisms", but Oh Well!

re 'where are you'-
hey, 90% of the time I have my head where the sun don't shine-
'through to the keeper there mate'- I love it! almost as good as 'lips and bums'-
your photos are the draw and I tend to agree with angelo that you just put your name--
of course, justiceiro is pretty interesting--
don't like your font, though--if I remember correctly, angelo has had some suggestions on fonts in the past-
hope the show goes well-
george
yeh, but I bet you don't remember what blue is-
So you speak Centigrade and fahrenheit, you speak inches and centimeters, Is it time to learn Baseball? cos they sure don't understand cricket
