google it and also many have printers that will print on rolls (such as mine but I don't use it that way)

    check out http://ezprints.mye-pix.com/ezdirect/products.asp?Type=Panorama

    Daniel,

You can do it creatively right here on SmugMug / Ezprints:

I just printed out a pano of a plane that I had. It looks great at 36" wide by ~14" tall. All I had to do was select a 24x36 with the no crop option. Worked like a charm. When I frame it, I'll just use the matte cutters to trim the drymounted image. :D

Make sure the shortest side of the file is at least 1280px. Or write to help@smugmug.com and tell them you've got a pano you'd like to do with the no-crop option but the shortest side is shorter than 1280px. Mine was 1272px and they printed one up for me.

Alternately, you can stack two of the images on top of each other and print it that way.

the shortest side on mine is 1228.... so should i just make it larger and upload it again? because the origional was too big for Smugmug to upload.

That's what I should have done but I didn't realize until later that it was a min pixel count per dimension rather than sum total of pixels in the image.

I've had several panos printed by EZPrints. The key (for me at least) is I crop it to 3:1 or 4:1 right away after the stitching, depending on the scene, rather than going with how it turns out after processing. Since I planned on them being 6" high (one of EZPrints' default sizes for panos - the other is 12"), I did them at 300 ppi making them either 5400 x 1800 or 7200 x 1800 pixels. Came out great.

how'd ya frame it? custom framing? cause that stuffs pricey. and i don't wanna put that much into something i'm gonna sell, or just have up on my wall.

My secret to custom framing is to do it myself. I took a framing class and I can get cheap materials on base. thumb.gif

Framing yourself beats custom framing. Michael's (or any well-supplied craft store) should have DIY frames (black or silver aluminum works great) in different length pairs along with foam core. Mats are cheap online (try Blick Art Materials) and a mat cutter isn't too bad and will last a long time. Kinda like doing your own car maintenance - buy tools, not labor.

AC Moore carries some 12"x36" frames that are pretty inexpensive. If the image won't fit that I might suggest making a 12x36 and then put your image in it, giving it a "digital mat" so that your image fits nicely into those dimension. Just an idea.
