Smugmug was down. Now custom domains redirected to www.smugmug.com

I know there have been some recent DoS problems with Joker domain names, but now I'm noticing other problems this morning. At about 8:20 AM CST, I noticed that all of smugmug was down. A few minutes later smugmug was back, but my site (www.milesboyer.com) was being redirected to www.smugmug.com. I checked a few other custom domain names, and they were being redirected to www.smugmug.com too. I'm registered through GoDaddy.com. I can get to my site through www.boyersmile.smugmug.com, but not my custom domain name. Hopefully this is just temporary, but I thought I would check to see if any others were seeing the same problem.

I'll report back if I see a change.

Thanks,
Miles Boyer

I can confirm the slideshow problem. Not working for me either. I checked other sites that I know have the slideshow, and they also are not working.

Interesting. I just checked williams.smugmug.com, and Andy's front page slideshow isn't working either. The first picture fades to black and stays that way.

Hopefully it is a temporary glitch, but I guess it is worth mentioning in case it can be avoided in the future.

We are back. Very sorry for the problems this morning, it appears that our database server became seriously unhappy. As you know, when the central brain is unhappy, lots of oddness occurs (the web cluster recovered after it's panic allowing access to some, but not all).

We will be reviewing all diagnostic data and looking to see how we can avoid this in the future. Again, sorry for the inconvenience.
