From this morning's game, my older son's team-mate makes the play.

I haven't done much with this yet, just cropped, leveled and punched up contrast a tiny bit before I headed out to other weekend events.

Great action shot Steven - those kind of "catches" are always fun to come home to and see what ya got:D Do you get to shoot from inside the fence?

I like it too. GO SOX! However, is it just me, or does it seem a little fuzzy?ne_nau.gif

outside the fence, but I was standing on a bucket so I could shoot over it.

it could very well be fuzzy, I was moving from batter to him, following the ball and perhaps autofocus wasn't fast enough. I don't trust my manual focus enough for live sports.

:uhoh Yup. Here's a 100% crop. Focus was a bit forward of the player - dang!

Don't beat yourself. It's a nice photo and a good job of catching the action.

Oh yeah. I love baseball, too! thumb.gif

That's a nice shot, Steve. I was down at Ocee Park in the afternoon shooting some little league games.

I like your "bucket" idea. As I'm sure that you know, all of the local fields have these 7 to 8 foot fences all the way around them. At least on the fields that the 10-12 year olds play on, I can get into the outfield and shoot in from there over a short fence.

I'm thinking of getting a short step ladder so that I can shoot over the fence from behind 1st base.

here's a bit better shot. from http://miltonsports.smugmug.com/gallery/1308601/, here's the pitcher tossing a "shuffle pass" to 1st after knocking down a line drive.

This shot has great timing written all over it. The shuffle pass as well.

Have you tried picking a focus point, like the center, instead of all the AF
    points?

I almost always use center point AF, I just think wasn't moving & aiming fast enough with that one.

Here's one I'm happy with from last night, my son sliding into 3rd. I would have preferred a slightly different angle, but those darn fences keep getting in the way :):
