My Camera
I took an Olympus C750 and couldn't have been happier. I can't blow them up as big as I would like, but at 16x20 they are still sharp. It is a small investment, small in size, small files, underwater housing available, and if it got ripped off, no big deal. Wasn't that expensive. I guess it depends on what you will be using your images for upon your return. I just bought a 30D, don't have a clue how to use it yet, but would be a little more intrusive to pull that out than it was to pull out the smaller Olympus. Just go w/ your gut.

Indeed, I was VERY surprised they could fix it, without marring the screws. Not even a fingerprint on the lens.
Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam
